Company says that she’s always been with Madeira at critical moments. As of October 31, the carrier will offer a total of 6 daily flights. For the Flower Festival, flights with larger aircraft such as the A321 will be operated.
TAP will increase its current operation between Lisbon and Funchal, for the winter IATA, beginning October 31, adding another daily flight. The company offers a total of six daily flights and, for the Flower Festival, will operate flights with aircraft that offer more places, such as the A321.
“TAP has the largest offer of places to and from Madeira and will suit its offer whenever it is justified,” said the official JM source of the carrier, admitting that it is not excluded the launch of new routes or direct links from Funchal whenever the market justified it.
“We are a hub company that offers all its customers worldwide optimized connections at its Lisbon hub to Funchal, and from Funchal to the entire wide network of destinations of the Company in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and the Americas. This is how TAP captures and transports tourists from all over the world to Madeira”, underlines the same source.
In the balance sheet, the company recalls the collaboration over the decades with the Region, highlighting in recent years the partnerships developed with the Madeira Promotion Association and ensuring that it will continue to “work actively and visible to promote and ‘sell’ the Madeira tourist destination”.
TAP says it will continue to work, either through advertising investments, or through synergies generated by the TAP sales machine in the various markets where it operates, and also through the company’s digital channels, or through the support of various Madeira promotional initiatives organized by the Tourism agencies and companies, such as travel familiarization of journalists and national and international travel agents.
The carrier also recalls that it has recently reduced the minimum price available on the rates, on the Lisbon-Madeira or Madeira-Lisboa route, in 10 euros per route. The new rate is 18 euros per route (YQ fuel rate included) in TAP|countDis, only available in the purchase of round trips.
“In practical terms, the minimum price of a trip, originating in the Region or Lisbon, in that segment, now presents the price of 69.35 euros, when previously it cost 89.35, already including airport fees in the value of 33.35 euros”, says the company.
About Porto Santo, TAP says that “the very low flight occupancy rates during the winter period make the route operation very deficient”.
“Since November 2020, TAP has been in force a commercial cooperation agreement with Binter Canaries, which allows to offer daily the link between Lisbon and Porto Santo (and vice versa). This facility allows customers to purchase a single ticket between Porto Santo and any other destination of the TAP network, with a single check-in and a single baggage order,” concludes official source of the carrier.
