The PSD abstained today, at the meeting of the Municipal Assembly of Santa Cruz, in the vote on proposal 17/2021, which included the use of the management balance of 2020 to 2021.
According to the municipal deputy Bruno Camacho, the PSD’s position was due to the fact that “not all the necessary elements to substantiate and issue a voting position on this matter have been sent”.
Bruno Camacho says that he finds no justification for this episode “nor much less for the need of the Executive President to have imposed his will and vote today, aware that the necessary conditions for the same were not met”.
“It is strange that only the statement of revenue has been sent, and the remaining 7 annexes to which the proposal referred as an integral part were missing, thus omitting the destination that the Municipal Executive wanted to give to this balance”, explains the PSD municipal deputy, pointing out that all documentation to be discussed in these Assemblies is sent to the entire cast that composes it, and that only the PSD and, subsequently, the CDS detected the error.
Bruno Camacho regrets what happened and criticizes the attitude of the Mayor of Santa Cruz who, knowing this omission and the lack of documentation in question, “went ahead anyway with a non-transparent and rigorous vote with which we do not agree”.
“We still tried to have this item scheduled for the next meeting, via Extraordinary Assembly, but this proposal was not accepted, and was even raised, by the President of the Executive, the suspicion that we were in bad faith”, underlines, finally, the Social Democrats, regretting what happened and recalling that the PSD Municipal Parliamentary Group “has always voted in conscience and in possession of all the elements that allow it to vote, which did not happen this time”.
The vote was favourable by JPP and PS, with PSD and CDS, in these circumstances, choosing to abstain.
