The President of the Republic calls for the convergence of the country so that the funds for economic recovery are not “a rain of benesses for some”, but rather an opportunity to improve the quality of collective life.
In the June 10 speech, whose celebrations take place in Funchal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa asked the Portuguese to never forget that we are a land of emigrants, and we should treat those who arrive in our country as we want to be treated when we emigrate abroad.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also left a word to the thousands and thousands of Portuguese, who in this health crisis were “careful of us”.
“A day so different from June 10, 2020.
On June 10, 2020 we were 8 in that cloister. Today, we are tens, thousands, of this Funchal, of this Madeira, of this Portugal. To say that life begins again.”
