Madeira will be again in 2021 the ‘APAVT Preferred Destination’, as had already happened last year, announced today the Regional Secretariat of Tourism and Culture in a statement.
According to the same note, the presentation will be made this week through the webinar to be held on Friday, 26, where the regional secretary of Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, and the president of the Portuguese Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (APAVT), Pedro Costa Ferreira, among many guests.
The APAVT Preferred Destination is an annual project that aims to boost tourist flows to a particular destination, either through a marketing work or through a work at the technical level with tour operators and travel agents.
In 2016, Madeira had also been chosen as APAVT’s Preferred Destination, allowing national tourism to continuously grow in the region since then.
The Regional Secretary of Tourism and Culture stresses that this is “a moment of great happiness and consideration with Madeira, by the Portuguese Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism”, and emphasizes that the relationship between the Regional Government and APAVT “has always been marked by common and enthusiastic involvement, over all these years”.
Therefore, Eduardo Jesus stresses that it is with “a determined attitude towards innovation that we intend to develop this partnership with APAVT”. Adding that “this moment is understood to be ideal to promote overcoming the challenges that the pandemic brought us, believing that, as at other times, APAVT and all its members will be part of a process that we wish to have the greatest success”.
