The Liberal Initiative candidate for Ponta do Sol was yesterday at the sites of Lombada, Carvalhal, Carreira, and Moledos, where he was in contact with the municipalities, highlighting concerns with the elderly population and the agricultural sector.
Argentina Pedro said it is urgent to “make it easy to secure old people to work safely, avoiding early hospitalizations and valuing the dialogue between generations, which can indirectly contribute to the population fixation in the municipality” and that the “Câmara Municipal may be this facilitator agent”. José Martins (IL candidate for the Municipal Assembly) believes that “the schools of the county can develop intergenerational projects with the elderly population in a close relationship and in constant contact with the community where it can be inserted”.
In Canhas, the Liberal Initiative candidate highlighted the complaints of several people about cleaning the berma of municipal roads and agricultural roads in order to prevent fires “all year long and not only when we are close to the elections”.
Frisando that Ponta do Sol is a markedly rural municipality, Aires Pedro said that it is necessary for the municipality to “establish partnerships between the Madeira Agricultural School, with the displacement of technicians to the municipality in order to provide training actions to our farmers”. So that they do not stop “working the land and if possible they can make young people more value agriculture”, he said.
