The CDS-PP Regional Policy Committee met today at the party headquarters to analyse the upcoming elections and the regional political situation.
In a statement, the president of the CDS-PP Regional Policy Committee, Rui Barreto, said that the party “is strongly mobilized in support of candidates who integrate the Madeira First coalition”, composed by PSD and CDS.
" As the PSD is the most autonomist of the parties with regional representation, the CDS-PP Madeira faces the elections as a clear struggle between autonomists, represented in the candidates in the First Madeira coalition, and centralists, represented by the candidates of the Socialist Party calling for this, massive support from the population to coalition”.
“On January 30, the choice is clear: either we support autonomist candidates or we support the feators of the Terreiro do Paço”, can be read in the statement.
In the electoral campaign, which is now beginning, “the party will be on the street, with the belief that it is possible a clear victory in Madeira, which also contributes to change the country, by freeing it from a far-left retrograde, which threatens economic growth and development and threatens freedom and the right to choose all citizens,” he said, to finalize.
